Experienced Veterinary Surgeon
We are looking for an experienced veterinary surgeon to join our friendly, supportive and collaborative team at our large RCVS accredited veterinary hospital. We are located in Upminster, Essex, close to the M25/A127 with fantastic transport links to London.
The role is ideal for a confident, experienced vet who enjoys routine and emergency surgery and thrives working in a busy hospital environment. A specific interest in surgery, particularly orthopaedics would be a bonus. We are also happy to consider part time workers who can contribute to our weekend rota.
You’ll be joining a large experienced team that genuinely enjoys working together. Colleagues support one another, share knowledge and encourage professional development. Whether you’re managing a challenging case, or developing an area of interest, you will have the support of a skilled and approachable team.
We offer a great work-life balance with a four-day working week and 8-hour shifts, alongside funded CPD, certificate support, paid RCVS fees and staff discounts.
Our hospital is well equipped with excellent facilities, including digital radiography, endoscopy, ultrasonography, the latest multiparameter machines and a ventilator. We have separate dog and cat wards, as well as isolation facilities. As a first and second opinion practice we offer a varied and interesting caseload.
We are proud to have achieved ‘outstanding’ in all the available awards during our most recent Practice Standard Inspection, and aim to offer certificate level care in all areas.
We also hold a Green award in recognition of our commitment to sustainability, and are always working to reduce our environmental impact. Our clinical area uses “Smartflow” which is a paperless recording system, we use low-flow anaesthesia to reduce anaesthetic gas consumption, and a range of other environmentally conscious initiatives that have reduced our carbon footprint by 67% over the last 7 years.
If you are an experienced vet looking to join a progressive, well equipped hospital where teamwork, professional development and work-life balance are prioritised, we’d love to hear from you.
