Our Veterinary Surgeons
Our highly skilled veterinary surgeons bring a wealth of experience and a commitment to clinical excellence. Several of our vets hold advanced practitioner status and postgraduate certifications in areas such as small animal surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, and ophthalmology. They work collaboratively to offer a comprehensive level of care, including diagnostics, surgical procedures, and medical management tailored to each pet’s needs.
Vanessa Nicola, DVM Cert.V.Opthal MRCVS - Advanced Practitioner in Veterinary Ophthalmology - Director
Vanessa qualified from the University of Liège in 2001 and holds an RCVS Certificate in Ophthalmology. Before joining Wylies in 2018, she was Clinical Director at a large veterinary hospital in Kent. Vanessa has also completed advanced leadership training and is passionate about mentoring future veterinary leaders.
Pascal Hoberg, DVM Cert AVP MRCVS - Director
Pascal qualified in 1997 from the University of Liège in Belgium and moved to the UK to begin his veterinary career. He holds an MRCVS Advanced Veterinary Practitioner Certificate in Cardiology and has been co-director at Wylies since 2018. Pascal is passionate about advanced cardiac diagnostics and patient care.
Adele Martin, Advanced Practitioner in Surgery BVetMed PgC(SAS) MRCVS - Head Vet
Adele joined Wylie Veterinary Centre in 2016 and was appointed Head Vet in 2017. She completed her Certificate in Small Animal Surgery in 2018 and achieved Advanced Practitioner status in 2021. Adele enjoys all areas of general practice and has a particular passion for rabbit medicine and surgery. She shares her home with a growing number of pets — proof of her deep love for animals.
Gemma Budino, BVetSCi BVet Med MRCVS PGvet ECC AP ECC - Advanced Practicioner in Emergency and Critical Care - Deputy Head Vet
Gemma graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2011 and holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Emergency and Critical Care. She has been a part of the Wylies team since 2015, with a special interest in inpatient care. At home, she enjoys time with her daughter Clara, a golden retriever, a cat, and her beloved horse.
Aideen Howard, MAVet MV MRCVS - Veterinary Surgeon
Aideen graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2002 and completed a 10-month internship before transitioning into small animal practice. With nearly two decades at Wylies, she enjoys both complex medical cases and advanced dentistry. At home, she is kept busy by her children, a rescue cat, and a host of small pets.
Andreea Avasiloaia, DVM PgC(SADi) CertAVP MRCVS - Veterinary Surgeon
Andreea qualified in Romania in 2011 and moved to the UK the following year, joining Wylies in 2019. With a strong interest in feline medicine and client education, she aims to pursue further qualifications in diagnostic imaging. Outside of work, Andreea enjoys baking and gardening with her two cats.
Alice Gardner, BVetMed PgC(SADI) Cert AVP MRCVS - Advanced Practitioner in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging - Veterinary Surgeon
Alice graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2013 and has been a dedicated member of the Wylies team ever since. Her special interest lies in diagnostic imaging, particularly ultrasound. Alice is a devoted cat parent to Mr Sven and Tinks, who keep her on her toes.
Angela Doyle, BVSz CertSAM CertGP MRCVS - Veterinary Surgeon
Angela qualified in South Africa in 1990 and has been with Wylies for over 27 years. She holds additional qualifications in Internal Medicine and General Practice. Angela balances her veterinary expertise with family life, sharing her home with four children and two cats.
Ashley Sinnott, BVetMed PGCert SAM MRCVS - Veterinary Surgeon
Ashley graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2011 and has worked exclusively in small animal practice. She holds a Certificate in Small Animal Medicine and has a special interest in endocrinology. Ashley and her husband have two young sons, a pony named Jack, and a dog named Jay.
Caroline Bowden, BVetMed MRCVS - Veterinary Surgeon
Caroline graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2017 and joined Wylies in 2023. She brings with her a wealth of experience in small animal medicine and a keen enthusiasm for her new role. Caroline shares her home with Suzy, a rescue dachshund who rarely leaves her side.
Chelsea Robertson, BSc (Hons) BVSc MRCVS - Veterinary Surgeon
Chelsea earned her degree in Veterinary Science from the University of Bristol in 2024, following a Bioveterinary Science degree from Writtle University College. Having completed multiple placements at Wylies, she joined the team full-time in 2024. Chelsea enjoys hockey, dog walks with her Dalmatian, and spending time with friends.
Jamie Raymond, BVetMed MRCVS RCVS - Veterinary Surgeon
Jamie graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2020 and joined Wylies the same year. He has a keen interest in ophthalmology and is currently pursuing further certification in this area. In his free time, Jamie enjoys sports including football, cricket, and golf.
Hilary Frank, BVSC CertAVP MRCVS - Veterinary Surgeon
Hilary joined Wylies in 2012 and has a particular interest in feline medicine. She brings warmth and dedication to her practice, guided by the antics of her two lively cats at home.
Jayne Elston, BVSc MRCVS - Veterinary Surgeon
Jayne qualified from the University of Bristol in 2013 and has been with Wylies ever since. She is passionate about feline medicine and provides care at both the Upminster and Brentwood locations. Her home is shared with two cats and two guinea pigs.
Jess Kallagher, BVM&S MRCVS - Veterinary Surgeon
Jess graduated from the University of Edinburgh and joined Wylies in 2021 after completing several placements with the team. She is excited to be part of a collaborative, supportive practice that values patient-centred care.

Simone Fioravanti, DVM MRCVS - Veterinary Surgeon
Originally from Rome, Simone graduated in 2008 and moved to the UK in 2010. He has a strong background in both equine and small animal medicine and is pursuing a Postgraduate Certificate in Cardiology. He is also expanding his skills in diagnostic imaging. In his downtime, Simone is a passionate cook, known for sharing his culinary talents with the team.

Izabela Przybytek, PgC(SAD) MRCVS - Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Dermatology - Veterinary Surgeon
Izabela graduated from Poland in 2016 and moved to the UK in 2017. After gaining experience across several first opinion practices in the UK, she joined Wylies in 2019. She holds a certificate in dermatology and has a particular interest in treating dermatological conditions in dogs and cats.
Izabela also has a passion for dentistry and is committed to continuously developing her skills in this area. She has a further interest in pain management and offers acupuncture appointments to help patients with chronic aches and pains.
Our Registered Veterinary Nurses & Student Nurses
Our dedicated team of Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs), student nurses, and support staff is at the heart of Wylie Veterinary Centre’s compassionate, high-quality care. With advanced training in emergency care, feline nursing, anaesthesia, inpatient recovery, and clinical procedures, they play an essential role in delivering exceptional treatment and client support across both our Upminster Hospital and Brentwood Wellness Centre. Many of our nurses also contribute to mentoring the next generation through training and coaching programmes.
Codie Liddell RVN ISFM DipFN - Head Nurse
Codie qualified in 2011 and holds the ISFM Feline Nursing Diploma. She has a strong interest in diagnostic imaging and clinical procedures. As Head Nurse, she balances hands-on nursing with leadership responsibilities.
Lauren Smith RVN - Deputy Head Nurse
Lauren joined Wylies in 2016 and qualified in 2021. As Deputy Head Nurse and Head of Training, she mentors our student nurses and clinical coaches. Her primary interest lies in anaesthesia and surgical nursing.
Julie Rankin RVN SQPC - Head of Dispensary
Julie joined Wylies in 2006 and now manages our dispensary operations. She has a special affection for Persian cats and balances her professional role with a busy home life as a mum of two.
Florence Ray Pack (Nurse) RVN - Head of Theatre
Florence qualified in 2019 after a career change. She is passionate about stress-free patient care and enjoys nature walks and time with her cat, Sayuri.
Ellie Clark RVN - Head of Clinical Procedures
Ellie began her Wylie journey in 2015 and qualified as an RVN in 2018. She now oversees clinical procedures and thrives in inpatient care — particularly in kennels, where she nurtures recovery and comfort for our patients. She shares her life with three dogs and a cat.
Laura Lewis RVN - Head of Kennels
Lauretta Samuels RVN - Head of Training
Lauretta joined in 2023 after completing placements during her training. She has a keen interest in anaesthesia, surgical nursing, and feline care.
Tracy Summerfield RVN - Head of Laboratory
Tracy has been a valued member of the Wylie team since 1992 and qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 1999. She now leads our busy in-house laboratory, supporting diagnostics and patient care with precision and efficiency. Tracy lives locally with her partner, two children, and energetic Springer Spaniel, Pluto.
Bethan Morrison BSc (Hons) RVN
Bethan joined in 2023 after qualifying as an RVN. She grew up around animals and shares her home with a mix of cats, dogs, horses, and chickens.
Bethany Tuffey RVN
Bethany joined in 2022 and transitioned into a night nurse role in 2023. She enjoys the fast-paced nature of emergency cases.
Charlotte Farrow RVN
Charlotte joined Wylies in 2019 and is passionate about consulting, nutrition, behaviour, and physiotherapy. Outside of work, she competes in Agility and Eventing with her border collies and horse.
Chloe Womack - Trainee Veterinary Nurse
Chloe began her animal care career at the age of 13, working in the kennel and cattery industry until she was 20. During this time, she completed her A Levels and also undertook an Animal Care course at college. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to train as an RVN at Wylies.
In the future, Chloe would love to travel more — particularly to Africa — and hopes to use her Veterinary Nurse qualification to help animals around the world. In her free time, she loves to bake and runs a small business making bespoke cakes and treats. Chloe also has a Belgian Malinois x GSD called Freya, who keeps her busy outside of work!
A couple of notes on changes made: “university” was changed to “college” as an Animal Care course would typically be a college-level qualification in the UK, though you may want to verify this and adjust if needed. The exclamation marks have been used more sparingly to keep the tone professional whilst still retaining some of Chloe’s personality.
Claire Lewis GradDip RVN
Claire has been with Wylies since the late ’90s and obtained her surgical nursing diploma in 2011. Her clinical strengths lie in theatre nursing. At home, she’s surrounded by a full house of pets — including guinea pigs, horses, and her terrier, Mavis.
Debbie Beasley RVN
Debbie has been part of the Wylies team since 1998. Formerly Head Nurse at our Hornchurch branch, she now works part-time in both Upminster and Brentwood, with a focus on client education and clinic nursing.
Emily Comber RVN
Emily began her veterinary career as a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) in 2021, which led her to qualify as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in March 2025. She joined Wylies in June 2025, where she has found a fantastic fit for her deep passion for feline care. Emily finds nothing more rewarding than making a real difference in a cat’s life. Outside of work, her life is happily ruled by her three wonderful cats!
Emily Pereira RVN - Night Nurse
Emily joined Wylies in 2022 as a Night Nurse. Her clinical interests include emergency medicine and critical care. She enjoys travelling, hiking, and indoor plant collecting.
Emma Jermain RVN
Emma joined Wylies in 2006, formerly serving as Head of Clinical Procedures. She now works as a laboratory technician while balancing family life.
Emma Tompkins GradDip VN RVN
Emma joined Wylies in 2000 and qualified in 2004. She holds a Graduate Diploma in Professional and Clinical Veterinary Nursing and has a strong focus on inpatient care and emergency medicine. Emma divides her time between our lab and wards while raising her two young boys.
Hannah Robinson RVN
Hannah qualified in 2017 and joined Wylies in 2019. As Head of Theatre, she ensures our surgical areas are efficiently managed and has a special interest in rabbit care.
Harriet Nottage RVN
Harriet qualified in 2020 and joined Wylies in 2022. She has a strong interest in hospital care and lives with her Staffordshire bull terrier and horses.

Jamie-Lee holds a Bioveterinary Science degree from the RVC and joined Wylies in 2024. She is currently training as an RVN and enjoys the outdoors, reading, and hiking.

Jasmine rejoined Wylies in 2024 after completing her Bioveterinary Science degree and beginning further studies at the RVC. She’s excited to train as a veterinary nurse.

Macey joined in 2024 and is pursuing her dream of becoming a veterinary nurse. Her home is filled with golden retrievers and cats.

Maddie started as a ward assistant and began nurse training in 2023. She is especially interested in rabbit care and inpatient support.
Maria Packer - Student Veterinary Nurse
Maria joined Wylies in 2022 and aspires to become a skilled veterinary nurse. Outside of work, she enjoys competing in dressage with her horse, Forever.

Molly began as a kennel assistant at Wylies in 2017 and qualified as an RVN in 2022. She is a valued member of our day nursing team.
Nathalie Mohammed RVN
Nathalie began nursing in 2022 and brings three years of veterinary industry experience. Her energetic cocker spaniel keeps her active at home.

Nicola joined in 2005 and has held several leadership roles, including Head of Theatre and Head of Clinical Procedures. She holds a certificate in Anaesthesia and Critical Care and now focuses her expertise at Brentwood.

Our reception and front-of-house teams are often the first point of contact for clients visiting our hospital or Wellness Centre. Friendly, knowledgeable, and deeply passionate about animals, this team ensures every visit runs smoothly — from booking appointments and answering questions to offering reassurance and support. Several team members hold BVRA-accredited veterinary receptionist qualifications, and all are committed to exceptional client service.
Clare Rogers - Reception Manager
Clare joined Wylies in 2023, bringing over 20 years of experience in veterinary roles. She thrives in reception and client services, and proudly leads our front-of-house team. Outside of work, Clare enjoys Bounce Fitness classes and walking her seven pugs.
Debbie Gasson RVN - Customer Care Manager
A former RVN, Debbie became part of the Wylie family in 2020. She brings her clinical knowledge into her customer care role, ensuring every client feels supported. In her spare time, she enjoys nature walks and quality time with loved ones.
Macy Collins - Head of Front of House
Macy joined Wylies in 2023 and loves welcoming patients and clients. She shares her home with two Bichon Frises — Teddy and Ditzy Mitzy — and dreams of one day owning a farm.

Charlotte became part of the Wylie team in 2017 after returning from travelling. She is based part-time at the Upminster Hospital and balances work with family life.
Charlotte Lewis - Receptionist
Charlotte joined Wylies in 2020 and is a dedicated part of our reception team. She shares her love of beach holidays with her two terriers, Toby and Bear.
Cheryl Wright- Receptionist
Since 2020, Cheryl has brought warmth and enthusiasm to her role. Outside of work, she supports her football-loving children from the sidelines each weekend.
Fran Green - Receptionist
A Wylie team member since 1996, Fran brings decades of dedication to her role. She lives with two dogs, a cat, and an aviary of canaries.
Gemma McDonald - Receptionist
Gemma has been greeting clients at the Upminster hospital since 2020. She loves working with animals and shares her home with two energetic French Bulldogs.
Georgina Palmer - Receptionist
Georgina joined the team with a strong love for animals and people. She has two cats, Felix and Dave, and enjoys exploring the outdoors with her family.
Jane Sexton - Receptionist
Jane joined the team in 2012 but has been part of the Wylie community as a long-time client. She enjoys walking, going to the gym, and spending time with her daughters and boxer dog, Tilly.
Julia Nibbs - Receptionist
Julia joined Wylies in 2023 with a passion for animal welfare. She shares her life with a tiny but brave chihuahua named Ronnie and enjoys long woodland walks and pub lunches.
Julie May - Receptionist
Julie has been a receptionist at the Upminster branch since 2010. She is a proud grandmother and shares her home with Wylie the cat — an adopted stray with a fitting name.
Kim Hiscox - Receptionist
Kim joined Wylies in 2023 following 11 years in the NHS. She is passionate about animal welfare and shares her home with a Shetland Sheepdog and a Cardigan Corgi.
Louise Hoskins - Receptionist
Louise began her career in veterinary reception in 2022 after 22 years in education. She holds a Gold BVRA qualification and volunteers for the South Essex Wildlife Hospital. She is a proud mum to two rescue dogs.
Natasha Kendrick - Receptionist
Natasha became part of the Wylie team in 2015 and treasures time with her children, husband, and their beloved cockerpoo, Otis. She’s also an avid baker.
Mei Ross - Receptionist
Mei found her perfect fit at Wylies, combining her love of animals and people. Her dog Kira, a chocolate cockapoo, is her constant companion and source of joy.

Rachel joined in 2024 and brings a creative spirit to the reception team. She has two dogs, enjoys baking and quilting, and lives with her partner and daughter.
Sharon Frost - Receptionist
Sharon has been with Wylies since 2003, originally as Head Receptionist at the Hornchurch branch. She’s completed a half-marathon, enjoys gardening and walking, and loves meeting pets and their owners.

Rebecca joined Wylies in 2021 and quickly felt at home. Her favourite part of the job is seeing pets recover and head home. At home, she enjoys time with her cheeky sausage dog, Sylvie.

Alison joined Wylies in 2024 after a long career on the London Underground. She’s passionate about crocheting, crystal painting, and caring for her four cats. She also volunteers at St. Francis Hospice in Upminster.
Teresa May - Receptionist
Teresa joined Wylies in 2010 and is passionate about all things pets and people. Her lively household includes a cockapoo, two cats, and a clever tortoise.

Zowie joined in 2019 to help open the Brentwood location and has been a constant presence ever since. She adores working in an animal-focused environment and cares for her Basset Hound and two Ragdoll cats.

Behind the scenes at Wylie Veterinary Centre, our office and administrative team keep everything running smoothly. From financial management and rota coordination to insurance claims and human resources, this team ensures that our clinical staff have the support they need to focus on providing excellent care. With decades of combined veterinary experience — many having transitioned from nursing roles — this group brings deep insight into both the clinical and operational sides of veterinary practice.
Martin Watts, Finance Director
Martin joined Wylies in 2014 after working in finance for a speaker manufacturer. As Financial Controller, he oversees budgeting, reporting, and financial strategy for the practice. Outside of work, he enjoys golf, fishing, motorsports, and time with his daughter Charlotte.
Clair Loding RVN - Practice Manager
Clair qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2003 and joined Wylies in 2009. After serving as Head Nurse from 2013, she transitioned to Practice Manager in 2021. While she occasionally misses her clinical days, Clair embraces the challenges of leadership and enjoys supporting such a large, friendly team. At home, she keeps just as busy with her two children.
Sarah Flatman RVN - Deputy Practice Manager
Sarah brings over 20 years of nursing experience to her role, having qualified in 2006 and served as a Head Nurse since 2010. She joined Wylies in 2022 and now applies her knowledge in practice management, with special interests in canine psychology and training. When she’s not renovating her home or practising Pilates, she’s spending time with her sweet lurcher, Dexter.
Katie Atkinson SQP-C - Manager at the Wylie Wellness Centre
Katie joined Wylies in 2022 after careers in finance and hospitality. She was drawn to Wylies for its values and compassionate culture. Katie shares her Brentwood home with two beloved rescue dogs, Kedi and Bessie.
Claire Hopkins - Rota and Diary Manager
Since joining Wylies in 2016, Claire has taken on various roles before finding her niche managing team rotas, online bookings, and scheduling across departments.
Fiona Steptowe RVN - Financial Administrator
Fiona has been with Wylies since 1996, starting as a trainee nurse and qualifying in 1998. She’s held roles including Head Nurse and Practice Manager, and now works in the finance department. Fiona’s home is filled with animals — from donkeys and ducks to dogs and cats.
Kate Clark, Administrator
Kate joined Wylies in 2016 after a 28-year career in banking. She moved into administration in 2020, but still helps at reception when needed. At home, she’s mum to her daughter and cocker spaniel, Poppie.
Sarah Boreham, HR & Payroll
Sarah has worked at Wylies since 2013, handling payroll and HR responsibilities with dedication and care. She shares her home with a chocolate Cockapoo named Mumford and three cats: Edi, Daisy, and Marlon.
Vanessa Lennox RVN - Insurance Administrator
Vanessa began at Wylies in 2014 as a nurse before transitioning to an office role in 2017. She now works full-time in insurance administration and occasionally assists on nursing shifts. She has four cats, two Cockerpoos, and enjoys walks and socialising with friends.
